The Danish Chamber of Commerce (Dansk Erhverv) and the Danish Embassy in Berlin will be organizing a special export delegation to the German capital called “Danish Life Science Days in Berlin” on October 11-12, 2022. The Danish Minister for Health, Magnus Heunicke, will lead the delegation and help the participating Danish companies in engaging directly with German decision makers, payers and health experts regarding your company’s products and health solutions for the German market.

Germany is the second-largest export market for the Danish life science cluster. The ongoing drive in the German healthcare system to create more personalized care and better patient outcomes by way of increased digitalization constitute a tremendous opportunity for Danish exporters of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. “Danish Life Science Days in Berlin” aims to explore this opportunity.

Join us for two intensive Danish life science days in Berlin. See the programme on the following pages.

The participation fee will be between DKK 9000 and 11,000 per company (for two participants per company). The final level of the fee will depend on the number of participants. For any additional participants (beyond two per company) the fee will be DKK 1,500 per participant. Please note that the participation fee is excl. travel and accommodation.

Some of the main themes for the discussions will include how we can improve outcomes for patients with chronic illnesses, innovative ways to achieve more personalized care, effective hearing habilitation through digital solutions and how to finance innovation in modern healthcare systems.

With large ambitions for the digitalization of healthcare, digital health is at the top of the agenda for the German healthcare providers. Through the Digitale Versorgungsgesetz (DVG) German healthcare insurance providers can invest in startups within healthcare and digitalization. Additionally DiGA (Digitale Gesundheitsanwendungen) provides funding for digital solutions within prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

The German government and regions also invest heavily in the hospital sector. With the Krankenhauszukunftsgesetz (KHZG) the government has allocated 3 billion EURO for hospitals to invest in modern emergency care capacity, digitalization, and IT-security. The German regions have furthermore allocated 1,3 billion EURO for the same purposes. Additionally, several German regions are currently investing in building new hospitals.

This two-day event is ideally suited for Danish life science-companies that have activities in Germany or see Germany as holding great promise for continued export growth. In addition, Dansk Erhverv and the Trade Council in Germany will strive to facilitate networking opportunities for participants.
