Together with Microsoft, CenSec and EIFO, Dansk Erhverv invites relevant players within the ecosystem of defense solutions to a day full of inspiration and good networking opportunities.

The event will be a mix of presentations and panel discussions, where you will hear perspectives on the importance of innovation and collaboration in the defense industry from among others The Ministry of Defense, CenSec, the Export & Investment Fund of Denmark and Microsoft. During the event you will get insights into the political engine room of the defense, what technological trends we see in the defense industry as well as experiences from both startups and other actors on how to collaborate, grow and expand to other markets. We hope to leave you inspired on how you can drive your business forward and the possibilities that lies ahead.

    Bram is Worldwide Industry Director Defence & Intelligence for Microsoft and has a profound background in Defence, Intelligence and Public Safety. He holds a Master’s degree in Law from the Catholic University of Leuven (BELGIUM) and an Advanced Master in Economic Law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (BELGIUM). 

    At Microsoft, Bram orchestrates strategic initiatives and programs within the Defense and Intelligence domain worldwide. His primary objective revolves around the transformation and modernization of military and intelligence organizations by equipping personnel and organizations with state-of-the-art technological solutions, so they are well-prepared for the challenges ahead. He focuses on Cloud, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence, and modern communication and collaboration solutions across the 31 NATO nations and the NATO organization itself. 

    Before joining Microsoft, Bram worked as Global Director Security Services in the Space and Security industry and as NATO Account Executive for IBM. Prior to his career in industry, Bram had a military career, during which he participated in different roles to the operations in Lebanon, Afghanistan and Libya for NATO and the United Nations. 

    With a deep interest for military operations, tactics and history, Bram still serves as a reserve officer with Belgian Defence.

    In April 2023, Lars Bo Larsen took up a position as the first executive Director of the National Defence Technology Center of Denmark. The center represents all 8 Danish Universities and 5 Approved technological Service providers. The aim of the center to strengthen the National Danish capacity in key technological areas, including domain specific areas like space, maritime and cyber, and enabling technologies like AI, quantum, and green technologies. The Center aims to work hand in hand with the Danish Armed forces, and to seek international partnerships in the framework of NATO and EU, as well as with key partners.    

    In 2020, Lars Bo Larsen was appointed Ambassador for Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste and ASEAN. From June 2021, he is expected also to be appointed to Malaysia. He supported Danish companies and Danish citizens living or working in Indonesia, with a special focus on green transition as well as sectors like health, defence and maritime, and upgrading overall relations with Indonesia, as well as with ASEAN.  

    From 2017 to 2020, Lars Bo Larsen served as Ambassador for EU’s Foreign and Security Policy, representing Denmark in the Political and Security Committee in Brussels. The Political and Security Committee guides EU security and defense policy globally and advice the Foreign Affairs Council. Lars Bo Larsen focused amongst other things on the approach of the European Union, positioning of Denmark in the changing security landscape with the European Defence Fund, as well as raising awareness of Asia. Earlier in the career, Lars Bo Larsen served two terms as coordinator in Copenhagen of EU foreign policy, including 4 years as European Correspondent from 2009-2013.  

    During the period from 2013 to 2017, Lars Bo Larsen served at Deputy Head of Mission at the Danish Embassy in Beijing. He was amongst others responsible for political affairs, including several visits at the level of Head of State and Government and the development of Chinas international profile and activities, as well as relations with Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Lars Bo Larsen was responsible for initiating 5 sector cooperation packages (health, food, maritime, environment and urbanization) as well as initiated a bilateral defense cooperation, including the establishment of a post as Danish Defense Attaché, covering Northeast Asia.  

    Previously, Lars Bo Larsen served a term as deputy head of the Royal Danish Embassy in The Hague, the Netherlands. He also did a shorter posting at the Danish Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa, in connection with the World Summit for Sustainable Development in Johannesburg in 2002 during which Denmark held the rotating EU presidency.  

    In addition, Lars Bo Larsen has held several positions at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, including as teamleader for EU Justice and Home Affairs, development policies and Latin American affairs.  

    Outside the diplomatic track, Lars Bo Larsen has worked as senior consultant for McKinsey & Company, and as a lecturer on the University of Copenhagen and at the Danish Police Academy.  

    Lars Bo Larsen holds a Master of Political Science from Aarhus University, Denmark, and has certified training from CEIBS Executive Education in Shanghai, Humboldt University in Berlin and concluded the McKinsey mini-MBA at Vevey, Switzerland. He is also co-founder of “Distinktion, Scandinavian Journal on Social Theory”, editing editions and articles on German political philosophy and theories of war, and has authored several articles on political sciences and translations of scientific literature from German to Danish.
