What to do: Geopolitical insecurity & Supply Chain Security

As large companies invest heavily in defenses, attackers increasingly turn to smaller suppliers where fewer resources often mean easier access. The SUCCESS project seeks to help companies accommodate the vital societal vulnerabilities in supply chains.

As large companies invest heavily in defenses, attackers increasingly turn to smaller suppliers where fewer resources often mean easier access. A single breach can mean the loss of an entire company network and the exposure of all data. Moreover, it can ripple through multiple companies if they share access to their networks.

That is why the new NIS 2 Directive that became Danish law on 1 July 2025 includes the requirement to manage supply chain cyber risks. Hundreds of Danish companies (many of them SMEs) now count as critical infrastructure under the Directive and need to show that hey are managing their cyber risk.

In short, supply chain cybersecurity is no longer optional. It’s quickly becoming a baseline expectation from regulators, customers, and business partners alike.

And that means many SMEs now face the same challenge: Where do we start?

SUCCESS

To make supply chain cybersecurity manageable for SMEs, we developed SUCCESS.

SUCCESS is a tool developed with insights from regulators, large companies, and SMEs. SUCCESS gives SMEs a practical, structured way to manage supply chain cybersecurity risks and start NIS 2 compliance; no specialist expertise required.

How it works

Answer four simple questions and get a clear overview of your supply chain cybersecurity risks, from network and data access to supplier dependencies. Based on your results, SUCCESS helps you:

  • Identify high-risk suppliers
  • Start structured, meaningful risk conversations
  • Document processes and create risk assessments and supporting policies

What’s included

The SUCCESS package includes:

  • The SUCCESS tool
  • Conversation starters for supplier dialogue
  • Practical templates
  • A short video user guide

Who is it for?

SUCCESS is designed for companies with limited cybersecurity resources that need to meet regulatory and business expectations.

A simple, free tool for SMEs - no cybersecurity expertise needed. The goal is straightforward: understand your risks and take the right steps, without unnecessary complexity.
